I guess our crazy journey started on July 18th 2011, when a pregnancy test confirmed that we were expecting our first baby! Our beautiful son was born, vaginally and unmedicated on 3/29/12 at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT two hours after we arrived. He is now four months old and doing just great! Gem will be 15 months on the 28th. I've never written because I've been so busy with her. I'm so proud and pleased to say she is so smart and happy. Gem had her surgery when she was 7 months. To say she is strong is an understatement. After a week being home, she was back to herself. She talks so much! She says about 20-25 words. Also, Gem knows her colors and we're also workin on numbers and shapes. She's walking and is just about into everything. Gem loves animals, books and music. She'll dance
We arepast the first year after my oldest son Michael's last surgery. His head ischanging all the time. We have had several issues including, wires that aretrying to force their way out of the skin on the top of his head, and having tohave them removed. Not through surgery but in office pulling them out andcutting them with no numbing meds. Of course there are lumps associated withthe surgery, and his head is a bit lopsided..... Either the bones areníthealing right or the wires are running away
It's been one year since my son had surgery and and I just wanted to report in on his progress. Laurence is doing great! I posted some new pictures. Before Laurence's surgery I looked at every photo I could of before, after, and WAY after. I realized at the time that many people move on and you never saw pictures from years after the surgery. I plan to visit at least once a year to post pictures and provide an update. I hope it helps!
